Since December 2023, version 7.2 of Ucopia and Ucopia Cloud has been available! It brings a host of new features, including :

• Ucopia IoT: autonomous device management integrated into the administration interface. Ucopia helps you identify these devices and grant them network access thanks to Ucopia profiles (Express and Advance).
• Ucopia & Smilein integration: in just a few clicks, create your service portal as a webapp using the Smilein studio. Thanks to Ucopia and Smilein integration, position a Smilein webapp before and/or after connection to the captive portal, enriching the user experience simply and effectively (Advance license & Smilein pricing conditions).

Focus on Ucopia IoT – managing standalone devices (7.2)
Some devices offer limited Wifi/wired networking capabilities and are unable to display and authenticate via a captive portal. This is particularly true of stand-alone devices, also known as “IoT” (Internet of Things).
The new Ucopia IoT functionality available in version 7.2 brings support for stand-alone devices, Express subscription level for simple management and Advance for advanced/automated management.

Operating principles

1. Device analysis :
   Device identification using: date/time, entry zone, MAC address prefix, Provider (MAC address), host name, DHCP fingerprint…
2. Allow or disallow :
   Before connection, once connected, bulk configuration*, one-click ban/restore. With Ucopia’s usual configuration granularity (Ucopia profiles).
3. Control usage:
   All logs are kept as usual.
